The CAA has been providing residential supports to adults with Autism since 1991. 16 individuals are currently availing of this support which is based upon a ‘home away from home, home for life’, non clinical principle.
Our residential service is provided from our Greenville and Crobally Service Centres. Every individual has their own bedroom which they can personalise according to their own likes. All services users living in a residential settings also have shared use of our well-equipped kitchens and living areas. These campuses are located on extensive grounds and a variety of beautiful gardens that provide a therapeutic, soothing and tranquil setting have been developed on both sites. All of our residential facilities are staffed appropriately by qualified personnel to meet all of the needs of those that avail of our supports both day and night.
A person centred approach is embraced, and input from families and parents encouraged and welcomed. A number of CAA vehicles facilitate integration with the local and wider community. Independent living skills and daily living skills are encouraged and supported. Educational, vocational and recreational activities are delivered to those who avail of our residential care support services. The recreational activities that are provided to the people in this service are varied depending on each individuals interests, but include; horse riding, swimming, bowling, cinema, holidays, picnics and walks, plays, and visits to local cafés and restaurants.
