6km Blue Balloon Fun Run & Walk in aid of the Cork Association for Autism
Fly your balloon for autism at the 6km Blue Balloon Fun Run & Walk in aid of the Cork Association for Autism which takes place in Blackrock this Sunday the 11th of September at 11am.
The scenic route will start at the Old Railway Line near Páirc Uí Chaoimh and travel along the water finishing up at Blackrock Castle. As the official colour for Autism Awareness is blue the Blue Balloon Fun Run is a fantastic way of raising awareness for Autism which now affects 1:100 individuals in Ireland.
Carol Walsh event organiser said ‘Having received a request from the Friends of the Irish Environment to cancel the balloon release at the finish line we will instead be asking everybody who takes part in our Blue Balloon Fun Run & Walk to bring their balloons home after the run. They will still get to fly their balloons for Autism down the old railway line and back along the water as participants tie their balloons to their wrists which always makes for a spectacular sight. We look forward to another great event this year which raises essential funds for our services’.
Participants are being encouraged to register online at www.corkautism.ie to book their place. Entry fee is €15 for adults, €5 for children under 12 and FREE with a sponsorship card which can be requested by calling Carol on 021 453 3642 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org Team and group registrations are also welcomed.
The event is proudly sponsored by Bus Eireann, Musgrave Group, Spar Rathcormac, All Fresh Wholesale Ltd Little Island, Fitzpatrick’s Shop Glounthaune and Guilders Bar Carrigtwohill.
