Meanwhile work is well under way on a major new Community resource for Youghal and the surrounding rural areas, with the development of new radio studios, together with office and training facilities at Nagle House. This will be the new home of Community Radio Youghal

The station has well in excess of 100 people actively volunteering in several capacities. Community Radio Youghal is registered as an accredited training centre and began to roll out accredited training courses in the Summer of 2011 – at little or no cost to volunteers and at a moderate or zero cost for non-volunteers.

At Nagle House, the station will have two new fully functional and soundproofed studios for broadcasting and recording. The facility will also have a training room for the provision of accredited and non-accredited training courses. The station also serves as a valuable social outlet for more than 100 people who volunteer as researchers; presenters; contributors; reporters; answer the telephone and carry out many other functions. Fundraising events, like this Fun Walk, are essential in order to help finance the move.
