Light it up Blue for Autism this April
 
Many of the world’s most iconic buildings are set to light up in blue to raise awareness of autism on April 2nd World Autism Awareness Day. Last year over 18,600 buildings and monuments worldwide lit up, from Madison Square Gardens to the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. The Cork Association for Autism are encouraging businesses in Cork to light up the city and county again this year. Cork City Hall, Parnell Place Bus Station, Reardens Bar, Blackrock Castle, Blarney Castle, The Radisson Blu Hotel, Firkin Crane, Triskel Arts Centre are just some of the businesses that are lighting up this year to help to shine a light on Autism.

On April 1st the Cork Association for Autism will be holding their Light it up Blue Gala Ball which takes place at the Maryborough Hotel & Spa, Douglas. The hotel will light up blue that night to coincide with the theme with the black-tie event expected to attract up to 260 attendees. The public are encouraged to hold their own fundraisers throughout the month of April which is Autism Awareness Month to support this campaign.

Reardens Bar on Washington street will show their support by lighting up blue on Saturday for the third consecutive year. On Friday April 8th they will also be holding a Wine Tasting Event followed by a live music session with Blue Moose from 8pm ‘till late in support of the CAA.  Tickets cost €10 and include three sampling glasses of wine, complimentary food bites and entry into the Secret Garden. Tickets are on sale now from Reardens Bar or can be purchased at the door on the night. All funds raised will go directly to the Cork Association for Autism.
